Due to popular demand, The Fusion Cooking School is pleased to announce the launch of our new Part-Time Chefs' International Certificate in Food Preparation and Culinary Art. This will be done over 20 consecutive Saturdays 8am-5.00pm starting in Mid July 2010. This course is designed for:
• those who are in full-time employment and cannot afford the time to study full-time
• those working in industry without a formal international qualification who want a qualification
• home executives and executive domestics who want to upgrade their skills
• people who want to develop and consolidate their passion for food and cooking
• and for people who are interested in pursuing a future career in food

Shaun Smith's background includes Regional Chef for Woolworths, East Coast Division, and previously Executive Chef at Juara Conference Centre, specialising in Thai-Fusion Cuisine. Shaun started The Fusion Cooking School in 2002 which offers a variety of courses for both the amateur cook and the professional chef, teaching the art and science of flavour dynamics, seasoning profiles and aromatic combinations with a strong emphasis on nutrition. Shaun is passionate about Food Theatre as Culinary Art and promotes a fun, healthy, every-day lifestyle eating experience that draws on the very best of global cuisines and focuses on the creative use of herbs and spices. He is also a guest lecturer to many other educational institutions and is a WACS and SACA (South African Chef's Association) accredited judge. |
Caryn England's background includes Executive Chef at the exclusive Quarters Boutique Hotel in Durban and previously, Sous Chef at Kim Williamson’s highly acclaimed AKA restaurant, where she shared a three year history before it relocated to Granny Mouse’s Country House. Caryn trained under Christina Martin and has worked in restaurants both locally and internationally, including Buitenverwachting (Cape Town), Casa da Sol (Mpumalanga), and the Wentworth Golf Estate (UK). Caryn is passionate about food and her energetic and fun-loving enthusiasm in the kitchen creates a unique atmosphere and working environment. Caryn has also received brilliant food reviews and has won the admiration of many a food critic, both locally and abroad. Caz is also a WACS and SACA (South African Chef's Association) accredited judge. |
